2 Years of My Life

Well, believe it or not, it was two years ago, on July 16th, 2006, that AJ and I said “I do” for life. It definitely doesn’t feel like 2 years because life goes faster and faster as you get older, and even faster if you’re having fun! We’ve had so much fun and been through a lot of life changes only in 24 months!

A simplified, brief highlight: We raised and then lost a puppy, went through two car crashes, bought one new car, bought a beautiful house in an area we love, AJ has gone back to school for two masters now, I got the job of my dreams and picked up 3 extra side jobs, we’ve been traveling internationally and nationally a ton, enjoying a new church, and all sorts of newly found idiosyncrasies in ourselves that 100% compliment each other!

For any of you who are just starting out, the first year of marriage is the most important! It’s when ALL good and bad habits start! You learn what makes him upset and you learn what you hate being associated with… you learn to pick your battles, learn when to let it go and when to hold on. My ONLY advice, that has set our marriage apart from a lot of other couples we know, and helped us thrive and grow with each other, is having God as the head of our marriage. God molds your heart to compliment each other and what we’ve learned the most out of two years, is we make one heck of team in EVERYTHING we do, either together or apart!

“A wife of noble character is her husbands crown.” – Proverbs 12:4

“ Therefore, as God’s chosen people, hold and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” ~Colossians 3:12

“Behind every successful man, is one AMAZING woman”
