New Favorite Toy

A toothbrush!!! Jack is very into textures of things lately so I just got back from a dentist cleaning and thought, why not?! So I opened up the free tooth brush they give you and he just LOVES chewing on both ends!! At least I don't have to brush his teeth for a while!! He still only has too little ones.

Rolling Like Crazy

So, being the terrible Momma that I am, I took Jack to the park last week and I put him on my lap to go down the slide thinking it would be a fun experience for him. We all did that on our parents laps! So Jack's foot, in his nice, thick sole, tennis shoes, fell between my legs and stopped both of us from moving any farther down the slide. His poor ankle! He immediately started crying, and I consoled him to stop after only about 1 minute. I felt his joints on both legs up and down and he didn't seem to start crying at my touch so I thought all was ok.

Well, when I went to put him down at home to stand up and walk with my fingers, he wouldn't put his right leg down at all. Wouldn't even touch it to the ground! UH! I was so upset about it, he was so good at walking and here I have ruined it! There was no sewlling or bruising anywhere so we waited it out before we went to get x-rays (apparently x-rays don't show too much on baby bones, and their bones are still so pliable at this age that it's very unlikely he would have broken it). Praise God, after 3 days, we definitely saw improvement. He hasn't really been in any pain unless I knock it (by accident!) and he'll whimper a little. So it's been a week and he still won't put 100% weight on it but he is grabbing his toes, moving his ankle all around and kicking his legs with no problem. So I guess we just have to give it a little more time. Sprains usually take a while to heal.

Anyway, so with no walking which was 98% of our daily awake time activities... my back is killing me from carrying this heavy 9month old around everywhere and he is getting a TON more floor time than he has had in a while. So maybe we'll get him to crawl with all this floor time. Who knows! So here is my super hyper, energetic roller... poor kid gets stuck at one side of the room after like 60 seconds and than stuck at the other side of the room or on top of a toy after like 30 seconds! UH!

Cutie Pie

This boy loves to chew on things! He recently found the clear tubes from Mommy's pump and are great to chew on before Mommy can stop him. He had such a grin on his face I couldn't say "no" this time, and took his picture instead!

Swing With Us

Finally a warm day when AJ was home! So we all went to the park. Jack was walking everywhere and for some reason kept wanting to walk in the mulch, which is lumpy, instead of walking on the solid pavement. But he was moving and we went all over!

At the Park

It was a warm day and Jack was FINALLY over his first cold. Lots of other moms had the same idea because there were lots of kids to watch climbing all over things! So he enjoyed walking after them and watching them with his big wide eyes! I went for a 2 mile run and on our way back we stopped to play!

Stand Up

Here is Jack in one of my favorite outfits, holding on to one of the many perfect height peices of furniture in our bedroom (our everyday hangout). He doesn't pull himself up yet, so it's a little demanding on my back that he wants to hold my fingers and walk everywhere. So this is him giving me a break and holding on to something else for a change!

My 8 month Old Boy

I know I'm a little late in posting these but when Jack turned 8 months old he decided to start saying "Dadadada" AND take his first steps while holding your fingers. So lots of changes for this boy! It is SO much fun to watch him discover his whole world!

Here is our son, Jack, already holding his first football!

Our Valentine's Day

AJ and I, as tradition since we were dating, order out G&M crab cakes and serve with sparkling cider. This year Jack was with us and got some peas & broccolli, and carrots, corn and chicken, with some pears and apples for dessert! He's a good eater, that boy of ours!
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day, sharing with everyone, the love God gave us all from the beginning!

Stripes!

I can't believe Jack is in 12 month sleepers! He's just getting too long for 9 month one peices! I just had to capture my boy here, who was almost 8 months old, when this was taken. His smile is still as contageious as ever!
