Silly Jack

I was worried that my smiley baby would not smile as much as he got older and into more things. But thankfully, I was wrong. Our boy smiles just as much but it happens 10000x faster so catching it on camera is a lot harder than it used to be. Here are some of Jack's smilely and silly moments!

In a hot pool (my brother carried big cups of hot  water from the kitchen sick...HA) with cousin Charlotte!
A slinky around his waist lasted a good 45 minutes before he actually stepped out of it!
"No don't touch Daddy's cup, Jack..." On our way to the pool in his much loved wagon!
Loving sweet potato at Boston Market so much that he's actually trying to lick it off his mouth, but I don't think his tounge can reach his eyebrow!
If you've ever met our son, you know he LOVES "ball, ball, balls!" Aunt Melissa has a personal ball bucket that he just adored!!
One of the few things Jack can say is "bub-bub-bubble" So that's what our son gets, a bubble bath!

Jack & Neilson

Jack's cousin Neilson have a special little bond growing, I think... I've caught a few moments of them being too cute together! Not to mention that Neilson is so grown up and is always egar to help Jack do whatever he's struggling to do.

The evening of my Grandmother's funeral, Jack and Neilson showed up in the same outfit, so April, my sister, just had to snap a picture! Then at Jack's birthday party a few days later, Jack insisted on holding Neilson's earlobe while in his birthday seat! I have like 6 pictures of him doing it! HA!

Also, my 3 sisters ended up watching Jack for AJ and I and April mentioned that Jack kept "tackling" Neilson when he was laying on the floor. If Jack sees anyone at his level on all fours or laying down, he will promptly run over and belly flop on top of you... it's just something mommy and him do ALL the time. April told me Neilson was pretty shocked! He comes from a house full of girls so that was quite surprising to him! I have no doubt the wrestling moves on his older cousins won't stop here!

More Birthday Recaps

I got a hold of the pictures off of AJ's phone finally so here are some more memories from Jack's first birthday party. Note his birthday cupcake on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle plate which was AJ's favorite plate growing up.

I tried cake pops as I told everyone in the last birthday party blog and they came out great looking just like golf balls! We also did the piggy bank for his college fund because Jack already had enough toys and we didn't want more for his first birthday. We are so thankful with everyone's generosity because we were able to make a big deposit to Jack's college fund that month! Thank you!

Ping Pong Ball is Where?

Thanks to my mother who is always coming up with creative household objects or 'toys' for Jack to be interested in, he just loves the ping pong ball! He even puts it right in his mouth! Which I know freaks out many moms but we always watch him with it and half the fun is spitting it out! The only downfall of this game is all the drule that can't escape from his mouth until after the ball comes out... yuck!

Backpack Hikes

Our Saturday tradition is taking a walk up to the pond by our house and getting a breakfast sandwich, and maybe a donut hole or two, playing at the park and then hiking home for nap time. Jack got to enjoy a chocolate donut hole on this hike and he was a happy kid with one messy mouth!

In Florida

With AJ's new job he was traveling every week. Well, finally he got enough flight miles that Jack and I can fly free with him anywhere he goes! So we spent 4 out of 5 weeks of July with AJ in Boca Raton, FL. It was a blast! Jack took his first of many airplane rides and has slept for about 1.5 of the 2.5 hour flights every trip! THANK YOU LORD! At the hotels, Jack and I have new scenery, a new church with friends to meet, new parks, lots of new water activities (you know, because it's so HOT), and Mommy doesn't have to cook or clean!

So we save money on BGE and groceries at home and get to fly, eat, and stay for free in another state! What's better than that?!? We actually just swtitched up hotels for August so we have a full kitchen now which I like better, because I have to admit, I was missing being in the kitchen to cook. Not to mention I can control much better the veggies that Jack eats instead of being at the whim of the hotel food, which was alaways delicious but not always nutritious.

They have the best parks down here, and fun chairs in the hotel lobbies too! Here are some pictures of our beach trips to clear and WARM beach waters, which is great considering we haven't been to MD beaches in years (too cold and gross and crowded).

I signed up to teach pre-K Sunday School for the month of August at our church at home, so we're home every weekend this month but we'll be gone for almost the entire month of September! Making a few short flights to different cities to explore on the weekends but staying the week back in Boca Raton.

Super cool flower chair in the hotel lobby!
For a baby who hated his "independant play time" in his pack n' play at home, he loves to sit and play in there now, as long as Mommy checks on him every few minutes.
 Jack's first plane ticket!
Jack has enjoyed throwing his "Lambos" out of his crib to see if Mommy would "fetch"... she doesn't.

Here is one of the many "spray pads" they have at the FREE parks down here.
Not too sure about this Allegator
At the local Mall for lunch!

They say "travel now, while Jack is young and can go anywhere," and that's what we intend to do... especially because it's FREE!!! Miss all of you in MD! We'll take lots of pictures and hope to catch up the weeks we are home.

Cousin Fun

Jack and Camden are growing up so fast! Melissa, my sister, and I are having a blast watching how they interact each time they are together. They are always playing more and more together! HA! Camden is into the "taking" stage and Jack is into the "giving" stage so they play quite nicely right now. Until Jack enters his "taking" stage, then there will be some battles and "sharing" lessons to work out.

But for now, these 2 are peas in a pod! All these pictures I have to give credit to Melissa for taking. I don't have a wonderful smart phone yet so I never have a camera to take any! It's so fun to recap only a few months that this boys have had together! Can't wait to see more memories and bruises they will share!
