Yes, our baby loves pickles. Who would have thought! Everywhere we go, people are amazed that a baby loves pickles! But I think the cold softness of the cucumber is good for his gums while teething, so as long as he can bare the vinegar, go for it, son!

Bundled Up In May??
I know we've had some hot and cold weather in the last month. AJ was babysitting for a few hours and just insists that Jack puts a hat on to keep his poor bald head warm. So inside... the only hat Dada could find was his Christmas hat... which Jack doesn't seem too unhappy about.
Then he took him for a walk and insisted that Jack wear his winter bear hat. Jack does not look happy about this decision at all. I think he's already got a hot head, even without hair!

Cousin Camden's First Birthday Party
My little sister did an AMAZING job on her son's first birthday party! She did an old time baseball theme with pop corn, cotton candy machine (which AJ ended up running with sticky arms!), pulled pork and hot dogs too! It was a ton of fun that lasted all day for most of us! Jack had a good time too, playing with the HUGE balloons and his NC (Carolina) cousins!
Hmmm... what is this in the grass?? Ah, yes, something to go in my mouth!
Here is my beautiful cousin, Mary Claire!Oooo, a froggy! I want to squeeze it!
Huge Balloons!
I wonder if this bat will taste good.
Oooo, my cousin Charlotte is getting close to me and smiling for a picture... I wonder if she'll keep smiling when (not if) I grab her hair!
Oh well, I'm going to grab it anyway! No more smiling Charlotte!
Notice the blur of me, I'm trying desperately to get the birthday boy up on the sofa for ONE picture!
Camden does NOT sit still for pictures, especially when it's his party with places to go and things to do!
Ooo, now I have the big balloon all to myself! I don't think it will fit in my mouth, but I'll try anyway! HA!

Skinny Neck
LOOK! We can finally see Jack's NECK!! I put in a 4 month picture in to compare, when we had no idea what Jack was hiding in his neck! Now we can see it because my skinny boy works out so much everyday now... he still has chubby legs though, so I get to nibble on those as often as I can.

A Ride In The Lawn-dry basket?!
I was carrying up the laundry basket from the basket while holding Jack in one arm and it only seemed more logical to put him in the basket to carry it the rest of the way upstairs. Just like my Dad used to give us wheel-barral rides to the mulch pile. But this is much... CLEANER!!! Hehe!
He was giggling... the Camera happened to only get eyes closed in this one!

Playing Piano
I teach piano in the afternoons during the week and Jack gets the privilege of listening while getting to play with some cute little girls! So now one of his hourly routine while we're walking around the first floor, is to walk over to the piano, reach up and play! He used to do it with one hand but now it's two! I'm always afraid he's going to lean back too far and fall, hence my legs in the picture. But he's always done just fine on his own.
Hopefully he's going more musical rhythm than his Daddy!

Baby Hoola Hoop
For Easter, my Mom gave Jack a green hoola hoop. He obviously doesn't have the hips for it yet but he loves the rattle and it is most decidedly the biggest thing he's ever put in his mouth! HA! I made him a one baby circus in the exersaucer with the hoola hoop on top! He even does a back bend with it! Oh, my talented little Jack, how I love you so!

Musical Table
A new favorite toy of Jack's is this musical table. I LOVE it too because it teaches all the appropriate sounds for each instrument. And Jack can stand up and walk all the way around it too! All the fun in one!

10 Month Changes
It's amazing to think that so many things happen sooooo fast! Jack had developmental milestones that were at 3.5 months, 7 months, and now 10 months. There were little things that happened in between those but all of a sudden within 5 days, Jack learns like 10 new tricks! Phew! This 10 month one was big.
He FINALLY started to crawl... sort of... he pulls himself up, he plays peek-a-boo with himself by hiding himself under a sheet until I say "Where is Jack?!" and he pulls the sheet off his face with a huge grin hiding behind it when I say "There he is!" He points with his index finger and likes to stick it in holes, he is walking while BEARLY holding one finger and has deifnitely let go twice already to take a few steps and shocks himself he's doing it and falls into my arms with a huge grin, like he knows he just did it by himself! He puts toys, lint, tissues, etc into the trash or into the cleanup bin. He also enjoys pulling things out of a bucket or a bin, like my socks out of my sock drawer!
I've been so busy keeping up with him, I haven't taken many pictures this month. Here are a few of him leaning from a sitting position to get onto his tummy, to then crawl with a toe push (he doesn't really get on his knees at all but has some strong toes to get him places). He also has amazing eye sight. He got out of his sitting position to get a 3mm long light grey peice of lint that was on the floor in front of him. So wild!
Truely God is so good! No human being could ever have designed us to develop and grow so uniquely! It is a miracle to watch every new expression and every new movement our boy makes. I'm soooo greatful to even have this experience of being a Mom. Thank you, Lord!

Here are two videos of him pulling himself up! I couldn't resist to show everyone his grin at the end. I know, I know... the crib height will be moved down.
Overalls
This boy is so into everything, it is hard to get a smile out of him posed like I used to. AJ never lets me put him in overalls, he always talks me out of it because they are so uncomfortable and he can't move around well in them. This is true but I just had to do it for one event since I have a bunch of them.
He looks so cute and on the verg of crying because he doesn't want to sit and I'm making him. I'm such a mean Mama!
